Over £1bn has been pledged for women to start their own businesses - so what are you waiting for?

The Telegraph s Women Mean Business campaign launched in 2018 and sparked a Government-backed review Three years ago, on International Women’s Day 2018, The Telegraph launched its landmark Women Mean Business campaign, which shone a light on the difficulties faced by female entrepreneurs. The campaign honed in on the shocking funding gap: around a third of UK businesses are owned by women, but female-led start-ups receive only nine per cent of venture capital funding. This limits the potential scope of these businesses, and stops women achieving their potential.  Within 24 hours after the campaign launch, the Treasury addresed the issue, calling it “incredibly important” and launching a review. Alison Rose, the now-CEO of Natwest, was tasked with writing an independent report which delivered its findings a year later, in the eponymous Rose Review.

Nihon Falcom Is Celebrating Its 40th Anniversary With A Special Broadcast

Nihon Falcom Is Celebrating Its 40th Anniversary With A Special Broadcast Not every anniversary is always cause for celebration with companies. Nintendo was noticeably quiet during Legend of Zelda s35th recently, but Nihon Falcom is doing things differently. A special 40th anniversary broadcast planned at 11am GMT, and will be hosted by President Toshihiro Kondo, looking back at the company s long history in RPGs. And what a history that is. Nihon Falcom opened its doors on March 9th 1982 and was an early pioneer of RPGs, focusing mainly on Japanese personal computers. Nihon Falcom doesn t usually get the same love that other major publishers do – Square Enix and Atlus are more famous in the west, for example – but throughout its history, it has successfully developed a dedicated cult following.
